Area of Responsibility, Licensing, and Support

General Provisions

Marketplace in the client area is a catalog of applications for quick installation on a VPS. Applications are installed exactly as distributed by the developer (vendor): the source code is not modified. During installation, configuration files may be created automatically, and actions required to launch the application on the VPS may be performed.

INTROSERV is not the developer or seller of the applications listed in the catalog and acts only as the provider of the VPS service (computing resources) and the automated deployment tool.

INTROSERV's Area of Responsibility

INTROSERV is responsible for:

  • VPS operability: hardware, network, server availability;
  • correct operation of the Marketplace application installation mechanism;
  • functionality of the client area, including the "Application Credentials" and "VPS Credentials" panels.

Client's Area of Responsibility

Once the installation is complete, management of the application passes to the client:

  • configuring and administering the application;
  • updating the application and its components;
  • backing up data;
  • protecting the server and the application (see the VPS security document for details);
  • complying with the vendor's license terms.

Licensing

The Marketplace catalog mainly features open-source editions of applications distributed under various licenses: MIT License, BSD License, Apache License 2.0, GNU GPL v2, GNU AGPL v3, and others. The terms of use for each application are defined by the license of the respective vendor. You can review the license when installing an application in the client area (the installation confirmation window displays a License Agreement section with a link to the license), as well as on the application page on the website in the Deployment details section.

Info

If an application has paid editions (Pro, Enterprise, and others), their purchase and licensing are a matter between the client and the vendor. Software licenses are not purchased through INTROSERV.

Support

Questions about VPS operation, network, server availability, and the Marketplace installation mechanism should be directed to INTROSERV support. If needed, the support team can also explain how the application was installed and where its configuration files are located.

Errors, vulnerabilities, and questions about the functionality of the application itself should be directed to the vendor: via the project's bug tracker, community forum, or official documentation.

Info

Before contacting the vendor, it is recommended to prepare information about the application version, logs, and the sequence of actions that leads to the error. This speeds up problem diagnosis.
