Dedicated Server Configuration Overview
This section covers the architecture of INTROSERV's dedicated server configurations and outlines the available client options. Use this knowledge to determine the best possible setup that aligns with your business requirements for performance, storage capacity, and uptime reliability.
Configuration Parameters
Each dedicated server configuration consists of several components that define its hardware and software setup. Below is an explanation of the main configuration parameters available on the INTROSERV website.
|
Parameter |
Description |
|
Platform |
Defines the server hardware chassis and manufacturer (for example, Supermicro, Dell, Fujitsu, HP). Each platform includes specific motherboards, chipsets, and server-grade components that support different CPU families and configurations. |
|
Location |
The physical location (data center) where your server will be deployed (e.g., Los Angeles, Warsaw, Singapore). Location affects network latency, compliance requirements, and available features |
|
CPU |
Processor model, number of cores/threads, base and boost frequency. |
|
Memory (RAM) |
Available memory options, usually from 16 GB to 2048 GB depending on platform. |
|
Disks |
Storage configuration and capacity options. Available storage types: HDD, SSD, Enterprise SSD, NVMe, and Enterprise NVMe. |
|
VLAN |
Enables private network connectivity between your servers. Connection speed is typically specified (e.g., 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps). |
|
Anti-DDoS Protection |
Automatic traffic filtering to protect against denial-of-service attacks. |
|
Operating System (OS) |
The operating system to be installed on the server. Available options include multiple Linux distributions and Windows Server versions. |
|
RDS Licence |
Optional Remote Desktop Services license for Windows environments. |
|
Web Control Panel |
Optional management panel for server administration (e.g., cPanel, Plesk, ISPmanager, and others). |
|
Backup Service |
Optional automated backup service with data stored on external storage. |
|
Storage Boxes |
Cloud storage for large-volume data. |
|
Bandwidth and Port Speed |
Defines public network bandwidth/limit (e.g., 1 Gbps - 100TB, 10 Gbps - Unmetered, 25 Gbps - Unmetered Guaranteed). |
|
IPv4 |
Number of IPv4 addresses provided with the server. Includes 1 primary IP by default. Additional IPs (up to 254) are available upon request – ideal for multi-domain hosting, containers, SSL certificates, or service isolation. Pricing for extra IPs – per price list. |

Info: This configuration format is identical to what appears in the client's account and order configurator.
Copying Configuration
Users can copy their configuration using the "Copy Configuration" button in the configurator. This is useful for:
- Sharing with colleagues or decision-makers before purchase
- Sending to INTROSERV support for consultation
- Comparing multiple configuration options
Tip: The copied text can be pasted directly into email, chat, or documentation.
Available Features and Options
CPU Options
From entry-level to high-performance processors:
- Intel Xeon Scalable (Silver, Gold, Platinum): single or dual-socket configurations for demanding applications
- AMD EPYC: high core count processors for parallel workloads
- AMD Ryzen: cost-effective processors with strong single-threaded performance, suitable for development workloads, game servers, small-to-midsize applications, and budget-conscious projects
Memory (RAM)
Available capacity ranges from 16 GB to 2048 GB depending on platform:
ECC DDR4 or DDR5 memory for data integrity
Storage
- HDD: high-capacity traditional drives (1TB to 24TB+)
- SSD: fast solid-state drives (240GB to 4TB)
- Enterprise SSD: high-endurance drives (480 GB to 15.36 TB)
- NVMe: ultra-fast PCIe storage (480GB to 7.68TB)
- Enterprise NVMe: high-endurance PCIe storage (960GB to 15.36TB)
- Software and hardware RAID configurations available (RAID 0, 1, 5, 10)
Bandwidth and Port Speed
Network performance options (depending on server plan): 100 Mbps, 250 Mbps, 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2 Gbps, 3 Gbps, 4 Gbps, 5 Gbps, 10 Gbps, 15 Gbps, 20 Gbps, 25 Gbps, 2x25 Gbps
Info: Traffic limits vary by configuration (unmetered or volume-based, e.g., 100TB/month)
Operating System
INTROSERV offers multiple operating system families:
- Linux distributions: Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux (various versions available)
- Windows Server: 2019, 2022 (Standard and Datacenter editions)
- Own OS option: clients can install their own OS using ISO image
Tip: Alternatively, request INTROSERV to install the Operating System if the server supports Virtual Media functionality.
RDS Licence (Remote Desktop Services)
RDS CALs enable multiple simultaneous remote desktop connections to Windows Server. For Windows Server environments, optional RDS CALs (Client Access Licenses) are available in two types:
- Per User – license is assigned to a specific user account; the user can connect from any device
- Per Device – license is assigned to a specific device; any user can connect from that device
Info: Maximum number of concurrent connections depends on the purchased CALs.
Web Control Panel
Management panels simplify server administration through user-friendly web interfaces. They provide tools for managing domains, email accounts, databases, FTP access, SSL certificates, and other essential hosting tasks without requiring command-line knowledge.
INTROSERV offers several control panel options compatible with both Linux and Windows environments. Each panel requires a separate license. Check the configurator for current available options and pricing.
VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network)
VLAN enables private network connectivity between multiple servers within the same location:
- Isolated network segment for secure inter-server communication
- Available bandwidth options: 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps, up to 50 Gbps (depending on platform and location)
- Useful for database replication, storage networks, or cluster configurations
- Selected during server ordering (bandwidth speed is chosen in the configurator)
Anti-DDoS Protection
Automatic traffic filtering to protect against denial-of-service attacks:
- Anti-DDoS: included by default in most locations
- Protects against volumetric attacks, SYN floods, and UDP floods
- Always-on protection with minimal latency impact
Backup Service
INTROSERV offers managed backup solutions powered by NAKIVO Backup & Replication:
- Automated daily or weekly backup schedules
- Incremental backups to reduce storage usage
- Configurable retention policies
- Restoration available via support request
Сan be added to any dedicated server configuration.
Storage Boxes (CloudBox)
Additional storage capacity for large-volume data:
- External storage extension accessible via network protocols (FTP, SFTP, FTPS WebDAV, samba/CIFS, NFS)
- Scalable capacity from 100 GB to several TB
- Ideal for backups, archives, or media storage
